After many years away, aside from popping in here and there, then getting locked out of my blog ( Country Pleasures)then couldn't log in here, I am back, under a new name! Hello! I'm Sue Neitzel, I was very active from 2005 to 2010 when I got locked out of my blog, since then life took over and busy is still my middle name. But, I'm here and ready to catch up!! It's so good to be back, I've missed the swaps the most! I do keep in touch with many farmgirls on Facebook, so please look me up there too! Thank you!

Hi Sue---a big welcome from southern West Virginia to you. My mom used to talk of being sent to the poor farm and I used to think it was a joke until I got older. I think I still live on a poor farm---ha.ha---and yet so true. But we always scrape by and have all we need. And things we don't need. Like too many animals. Your farm sounds lovely. Hope to hear more about it and I will read your blog.

Sue that is fascinating!! I have a Dear friend in Weaubleau, MO. I've never been to MO, but my friend's farmhouse has so much history! Its beautiful. Built ins from eras gone by.

Thank you Red Tractor Girl! We bought our forever home last year, it turned out to be the old county welfare farm aka The Poor Farm. So, after redoing the whole house inside, it was stuck in the 80's, were starting on the outside. Tons of work to be done on this farm. I added chickens this spring and our hope is to raise bottle calves next spring. I did garden tubs this year but plans are for raised beds come spring. I'm also writing a book on this place, fiction but true to the past. I stared a new blog on this new venture, so you can catch up there! www.sweethomemissouri.com
