I live in the North East and came across such pretty yellow daffodils in a nursery. I was thinking of placing them in a decorative bucket but not sure if they need to be placed in the ground or the bucket is fine. Any suggestions from you farmgirls would be appreciated. thx.

Joan, you can put daffodils in a decorative bucket and once they are done blooming, transplant them in the ground. I have a friend who gave me a bunch of daffodils over the past few years from her yard that I planted in the late spring after they were done blooming at her house & they've done just fine each year after that.

Have fun and enjoy your beautiful spring bloomers!

Joan I have never put daffodils in a pot but last fall I put 25 yellow tulips in a container and they are in full bloom in my front yard. When they are through blooming I will take them up and re-pot next fall. Will see how many come back next spring.

I live in northeast Texas and the tulip bulbs survived several nights and days of single digit temperatures. I wintered them over on the south side of my house and covered them with leaves. When they started to emerge in March I moved them to the front yard circle flower bed.
