One of the drawbacks of our new home is that we drive by the county animal control. The gate around the area is locked after is closing, so dogs can't be accepted then. Last night we saw a little white puppy along the roadside. It was cold so we took him home for the night. He got a bath, food, water and a warm place to sleep. He is cute and sweet tempered, but we can't keep him. We will take him to animal control later & are hopeful he'll be adopted. How can you resist a face like this?
My dogs were welcoming to the little refugee, except when he was snuggled in my lap.

Such a hopeful chapter for this cute puppy. I am such a sucker for Pitbulls and if I lived in the area I sure would have adopted him. Best wishes for a wonderful outcome to this little guy.

Vanessa, I am so glad you took in this baby pup for the night and helped him be placed in the rescue where he will get a home. What an adorable face!!!

If I would see someone dumping an animal I would bite em myself.

I agree Nicole. I simply don't understand why they dump them. How hard is it to give them to someone who wants them or take them somewhere they are safe until finding a new home. It's heartless to dump them and expect them to survive. Breaks my heart.

Oh he’s too cute! Poor little baby. My sister in law has the same issue. She lives in the country and at the end of a road, so animals are routinely dropped there. She had 15 dogs last year alone dropped at her gate. :(

So sad. I’d have a hard time not keeping him!!! Thanks for taking care of him, Vanessa. He might have not made it through the night.

My babies are all rescues, two were confirmed “dumpees”. I wish the mean people that dumped them could see them now - healthy, happy and so full of love!

Jaime, if I still had a gas card I would mail it to you and include a self addressed stamped envelope to get it back when you are done with the down and back to Kentucky..

I am the same but I am 2181 miles away. He is so cute. Hope a loving farm family takes him

Oh Audra, he looks just like a puppy someone dumped out here a few months ago! He, too, was a pit and he went to a rescue. I had him about three weeks before he left and he was so anemic from hookworms that he fainted. Luckily, by the time he left, he was fat and sassy, but he looked just like this puppy beforehand.

Good news! The ASPCA guy said he'd be going to Pit Bull Rescue. He has a great life ahead.

$5 tag & a 40 lb. bag of dog food & he's yours at Bracken County Animal Shelter. Very reasonable.
