Posted - Aug 31 2017 : 5:07:17 PM On Friday night a huge asteroid nearly 3 miles long will be going past earth for the first time since 1890. It won't be visible again until after 2500! You should be able to see it for the next several nights with a telescope. NASA will be tracking it with radar. Hope you have clear skies to get a glimpse of it.

Posted - Sep 07 2017 : 11:34:26 AM Unfortunately for us here in the Chicago area, cloudy skies showed up on the nights the "Florence Nightingale" asteroid went through. Oh well, there's always something happening in the skies, I'll let you know when something unique is due to occur.
Keep stargazing!

Posted - Sep 01 2017 : 11:01:30 AM I was just thinking the same thing as Kelly. We don't have a telescope but we do have binoculars. I will have to do some research and see if we can see it. Thanks for sharing Dawn.

Posted - Sep 01 2017 : 05:37:35 AM Take a look on the web at the different internet sites for this asteroid. They give instructions on how to see it with binoculars too. Hopefully you can find the time it will be appearing by you and get a glimpse.
