I'm a local wild plant "expert". As a result, I often lead walks that focus on plant identification, medicinal plants, and edible plants and fungi. Yesterday, I led a wild mushroom walk and stumbled on a nice patch of chanterelles. I also foraged some Eastern Rose Mallow to make cookies with. I have an article written in our local Master Naturalist newsletter about Rose Mallow that includes the recipe that can be found here... https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_RRY5bP2is3ZDRSTTNIRFVJYjg/view

I'm fairly new to the boards and earning merit badges. I love reading about everyone's process and progress!

That is so cool. Sylmar, .ca. Is about two hours away on the other side of L.A. wish I had someone to drive it with but thanks for the info.

I don't have a website. I did at one time but after a getting lymes disease early in the year, I decided to shed myself of the added responsibility. This is one of the best foraging websites and it is near you! http://urbanoutdoorskills.com/

I would love to go.

Heather, do you have a website or a favorite website about foraging?

If you are ever in Virginia, I would be happy to take you on a foraging hike!

OMG Heather! You are on my favorites list of people I would want with me if I was stranded on an island or lost in the woods. My Grandmother knew every plant in her area and how to use them. I used to watch a show called "Hot on the Trail" with Sunny Savage until it went off the air in my area.

Wish we lived in the same state. I would love to hike with you. . Sunny did an episode chanterelle. Welcome from So. Calif.
