Hi there! I'm a British city girl who has found herself living on a ten acre horse farm way up in the NW corner of WA. I was introduced to the magazine by my husband's grandma, who loves to pass on her previous issues to me.

This year I planted my first ever garden, neglected it horribly, and things still grew! I pickled my first radishes, learned how to make bread, learned how to use a weed eater, and this evening I taught myself how to crochet from youtube videos. I've had chickens for a couple of years and expanded my flock this year.

I experience a lot of "firsts" in this new life of mine. I have a lot to learn! It is a little counter intuitive to join an online forum as I am trying to strip unnecessary technology from my life, get off my phone and computer and get outside more, but I figured I might have some good connections to make here. Look forward to learning and sharing with you all!

Welcome Bee. I am orginally from Southern Calif. Now I live in the pacific North West. I love it here. Just a little snow an inch or two most winters, the fall is beautiful, the spring and summer nice weather for growing a garden.

Huge welcome, Bee! I am new to gardening as well. This is my spec one year and so far it's been better than last year. You will love having a garden and all you can do with it! I also love to crochet and learned last year when I was new too. Be sure to share some of your projects. We all love to see what everyone is up to and what they are making. Hope you enjoy it here and can make some great connections!

Hi Bee and welcome to MJF from way over here in north central Florida!! We have a great time here sharing ideas, getting help with specific questions about farm life and gardening, and just encouraging each other in general. I look forward to hearing more about how you are doing out there in the beautiful state of Washington!
