Please remember to "Subscribe" to this topic so you don't miss any important information.

This swap is for mini-aprons made with an animal-theme in design or fabrics. When making aprons for your fellow swappers, please remember to make something that you would like to receive. We love embellishments - buttons, trims, pockets, lace, ruffles, etc, but they are not always necessary depending on the design of the apron. Future themes throughout the year will be Halloween, Christmas, and "Party" styles. Plan ahead, find fabrics in your stash, and join in when you can. You can always make some mini aprons ahead for these topics when you have spare time. NOTE: They do not all have to be the same - different is fun, too! Use up your scraps and be creative.

Here are three samples of Animal themed mini aprons:

Please take a look at the cute aprons from a previous farmgirl mini-apron swap. Read the comments and you will see Grace's collection of mini-aprons here: http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/snitz/topic.asp?whichpage=0.84&TOPIC_ID=77791#915025. You can also see examples of the aprons from these newest swaps in Mini Apron Swaps #1 and #2.

NOTE: There are patterns available for mini-apron ornaments - Simplicity 1957 and Simplicity 2748. There are also free crochet and other mini apron patterns on Pinterest. You can use these or design your own half-aprons or full bib-style aprons. Farmgirls LOVE embellishments!

For all you crocheters, out there, here is a cute adaptable apron some of you may like. I'm going to give it a try and make me one. LOL!

and this looks like a great book of small crocheted aprons, though they are not mini. The cover says they are towels:

Sign-ups start now: April 17
Sign-ups end: Noon, Friday, May 12
Important! Mail out to Linda NO LATER THAN: Friday, May 26

NOTE: Your aprons, postage and return envelope should arrive NO LATER THAN May 26.

Here are the criteria:
1. You will make a mini apron - either half-apron or full bib-style apron - for each farmgirl who signs up (# depends on signups). Finished apron size is approx. 5" wide and 5-6" long depending on style (Note: my half aprons start at 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" and are gathered to a 5" waist) ... not including the ties... ties on each side should be about 6-8"(not incl.waistband) so the aprons can be tied onto an object for display. The bib aprons are about 6-1/2" to 7" long, not counting the neck strap. You might want to add a pocket and tuck a little note inside. You will be getting one of your mini-aprons back. Be sure to sign your mini-aprons.
2. You will send me your set of mini aprons.
3. You will also include a Self-addressed, stamped (with postage stamps) envelope with the same amount of postage as your envelope costs to mail, plus include $1.00 cash to cover the cost of mailing your mini aprons back to you. The extra dollar will cover cost of extra weight that different trims might add. NOTE: Depending on how embellished your aprons are compared to the others, postage could be quite a bit more.
4. I will divide up the mini aprons, and mail your mini aprons back to you.

I will list names of those who sign up and let you know the final total!

Let's have some fun with these!

I usually sneeze when I use pepper when cooking. So I'm being very careful. It has been a week and no sneeze yet. They said if you feel o e coming g on open your mouth WIDE.???? I don't know what that does.

When will you be home???

How do you ward off sneezes? I hope you are doing better.

I love your aprons hanging. Gives me an idea for hanging them in my dining room on the built-in shelves. :-))

Linda, I don't know when you will get home, but I mailed my mini hostess aprons and that ribbon to you today. She thought it should arrive Saturday.
I had to go get the stitches out of my mouth so I decided to stop at the PO....even with the bruises. The oral surgeon was concerned because he had bruised me. I told him it was really much better than at the beginning. He admitted it was a tedious, difficult job to remove the tooth that was rooted in my sinus cavity. I am restricted from straws and sneezes and blowing my nose for two more weeks. I am almost half way there.yea!

I have been wondering the same thing, on how to display the aprons, I was thinking of a large bulletin board with twine strung across in several places and hung the aprons with tiny clothes pins.

Oh.. and if you dint have cork sheeting... you could cut out a piece of cardboard (from a packing box...corragated)...and cover the piece of cardboard with burlap or fabric...
"Just thinking ..outside the box"... herheehee...

Hmmm.... how to display...

how about a large repurposed picture or mirror frame... take out the pic/mirror... add a piece of cork sheeting...you can paint the cork or stencile it... then you can 'pin' your aprons onto the cork sheeting that is now framed on your wall... and you can change out the aprons according to theme...

Grace, my little pea in pod sister,
Thank you for posting pictures. Farmbrother Big Buzz and I decided to do some last minute traveling. We arrived back home on the 3rd. I feel like I am so far behind in posting. LOL!

Like all of my farmsisters, I soooooo love all the mini aprons. ADORABLE beyond words.
Hubby asked how everyone thinks of all these ideas? I explained they are all in our heads. LOL! He just rolled his eyes. Time for me to get out my mega bee swatter and give a couple big close call swats. LOL!

Again sweet sister, thank you for posting pics. And you are right, we like posting pics and bragging on all of our farmsisters. What great bunch of sisters we have! Truly blessed beyond measure.
