Posted - Feb 16 2017 : 9:06:17 PM Today we went to a local Thrift/Antique shop and I found some more great farmgirl-style finds. First, a beautiful bright tablecloth - nice spring yellows, greens, and golds, with a vegetable motif. Perfect for a farmgirl table and only $4.00.
Then one jar of buttons and another jar of bobbins with thread - $5.00 each. I don't know for sure, but I think the bobbins will fit one of my 24 sewing machines. LOL! But I also have some craft ideas for them.
Next were 2 fabric fruits - an apple and a pear - and I just couldn't pass them up for 25 cents each.
But the best item of all is a laundry bag. It was carefully made for someone named Evelyn, with piping all around; embroidery of flowers, the word Laundry, and separate pockets at the bottom for Hankies and Hose. It fits over a hanger. I LOVE it! And only $7.00.
There are several other things there I almost bought, and I may have to go back for them. There is a jar and a wooden spool rack - both full of wooden spools with thread for $5.00 each. Two hand pieced quilt tops (1 double wedding ring and 1 just squares) - $10.00 each. Do I need them? NO! Do I like them? YES! LOL!

Posted - Feb 17 2017 : 06:21:56 AM Linda, you did good. Great finds. I noticed the jar with buttons has a zinc lid. Love zinc lids. I have collected them for years. I remember little laundry bags for hankies and hose but not so pretty as this one.

Posted - Feb 17 2017 : 06:13:50 AM Wow, Linda, you hit the jack pot at that antique store!! I love all of your purchases and what a bargain you got them for too. I wish I could find cool stuff around here but most everything I find is either way over priced for the quality or is in poor condition. Thanks for sharing your bounty finds!
