Hi girls -
I am just so happy, I have to share. Many of you know about the crazy heart issues I have been having, and the need for the pacemaker. Well, this whole time the doctors have been concerned that it's sarcoid in my heart, which is a very, very dangerous and scary thing! To boot, recent scans showed I have something going on in my lungs, which, if sarcoid, could also be something we don't even want to think about. Well, God is good, sisters! SO, SO GOOD! I continue to have problems, so they finally sent me for a PET scan. Are you ready for this? Not only do I NOT have sarcoid in my heart, I don't even have it in my lungs! Both are clear!!!!! CLEAR!!! The electrophysiologist said he can't rule out sarcoid completely because, basically, symptoms can flare up and subside; BUT for now, I am good to go and there are no worries - it's not attacking my heart or lungs!! YAY!!!
So, I asked why all the trouble with my heart...does this kind of thing just happen? He said it's rare. It can happen, but it's rare. (Kem, he even checked for Lyme, as you had suggested it might be, but even those tests came back negative.) He is going to continue to monitor my heart with a PET scan every two years, or if I have more problems I need to call him. In the meantime, he is going to defer to my cardiologist as to how to proceed in treating my condition.
The main thing? As long as this remains an electrical issue, I can live a very long, healthy life with the assistance of my pacemaker! WOO HOO!!!! And that, my friends, is exactly what I plan to do! :)
So, never ever ever give up, girls. And try not to be afraid in the mist of whatever your facing. Just keep praying, keep trusting, and definitely have all of us farmgirl sisters lifting you up in prayer. God hears, and He is definitely working behind the scenes on your behalf! I'm living proof!
SO thrilled... I told a dear friend today that it feels like I'm walking on sunshine... but then I corrected myself. Truth be told, I'm actually walking IN HIS LIGHT!!!
