01/14/17; Please pray for our neighbors and friends, Charles and Joy. They live about a mile from us, an older couple. Their house caught fire today, starting in the garage. I don't know the extent of the damage, but another neighbor says "it's bad". Both of these folks have some physical issues.
My hubby and I have been through a house fire and the devastation and stress, only we were much younger.
I'm sure they are overwhelmed!
PLEASE PRAY FOR THEM!
THANK YOU!

Praying for your neighbors, CJ. It is a difficult time, what doesn't get burnt is usually smoke damaged. Much love being sent their way.

My friends have rented a house to live in while they get through this ordeal. Her piano was saved fortunately and has been moved to the rental so she can continue teaching piano students and enjoying playing. I haven't heard any more about how they are doing with their health issues and stress from this.

More prayers on the way, CJ. Such a tough thing, but how much more difficult this is for them at their age and with their health issues. God love and bless them. I hope they will be okay. Please keep us posted. Hugs and love - Nini

Prayers for you too.

I have learned that to have a good friend is the purest of all God's gifts, for it is a love that has no exchange of payment.

Just follow God unquestioningly.
Because you love Him so, for if you trust His judgment there is nothing you need to know.

I walked by there the next morning to see for myself. The garage is gone, their vehicles are gone, whatever else was in the garage and you could tell that smoke had come out the front door which was near the garage. The house was still standing, the roof intact, but it's hard to tell what damage there was in the house. No one was around.

01/08/17: I saw and spoke with a mutual friend this morning who says they are staying in a motel locally, their church offering them a van to drive. It was accidental involving something the husband was doing. Fortunately they both were uninjured. The concern is for the husband, who is in his mid-80s with failing health and that this could "take him down". The wife is in her mid-60s with heart and mobility issues. I don't know what the considerations are for the house, if any of it is salvageable, etc.
THANKS FOR PRAYERS!
CJ

Thank you girls! I woke up early this morning thinking about them and the stressful situation they are in now.
This sort of thing CHANGES your life for a long time! Your home, your routine, your finances, your emotional well-being, your health etc!
I KNOW the community will be there for them, that's just the way it is here.
When we went through that the community support, involvement and assistance was overwhelming!! My hubby's brother who lives in Tucson, came up on two separate occasions to help with cleanup and then construction of new house . . . he was IMPRESSED BEYOND WORDS. He said that that kind of support would not have happened where he lived.
Anyway . . . please continue to pray! I don't know any more yet.
THANK YOU!
