My sweet Charmer passed away on Friday afternoon leaving a gaping hole in my heart. It has been an agonizing few days. Dh suggested we stay home and take another day to mourn before returning to work. While sittng outside today reminescing, this beautiful monarch butterfly came and flitted around us, flew over to and around the place under the cherry tree where Charmer died and then flew back to us and over Charmer's spot again before flying away. It may sound crazy, but I think it was somehow from him! We both burst into tears immediately and I felt such relief and comfort from this. I might actually survive this terrible loss. I miss him so deeply and probably will forever, but appreciate the idea that he sent a sign to say he is OK and moving on in peace.

Sarah,

I am sooo sorry. What a beautiful story. I understand your pain, it is awful to lose a pet. Charmer was a very pretty kitty.

I'm so sorry, Sarah. We lost one of our kitties around Thanksgiving last year, and another one early this year. The first one was completely unexpected and happened fast. The second was an elderly lady so we knew her time was coming. Neither losses were easy though. Praying for comfort.

Thank you all. It hass been such a traumatic few days, but the happy memories and the peace are coming to us, it is just not going to happen quickly. All the support helps though!

Deb, I am very much looking forward to Sat, seeing you is going to be so fun and will be a great distraction too!

Sarah, I am so sorry for your loss of your precious fur baby. It's so hard losing a family member. I'm glad you were able to find some comfort in the butterfly he sent for you! Many hugs.

The passing of a friend is hard, even if the friend comes with four paws, a silky soft fur, and the cutest meow every. The footprints our feline friends leave in our hearts can often run deep. My condolences on your loss Sarah.
