Hooray, hooray, summer is on the way! Let's get busy with June Mail Art

If this is your first time signing up for Mail Art, please visit the topic Farmgirl Mail Art to read our guidelines. Then leave a comment on that post if you want to participate and I will contact you.

FOR JUNE, please leave a comment on this thread stating you'd like to join in. Sign-up is available through June 15. If your comment appears after you've posted it, that means you're on the roster.

This month, our theme will be "In the Good 'Ole Summertime". It's such a wide topic and can be interpreted in so many different ways. For our challenge, let's use the color orange. And as always, if the theme/challenge isn't right for you, feel free to make what your heart desires.

I will send an email with your partner to you on June 16. Please send your Mail Art before June 30.

A couple of things to keep in mind:
1. Traditionally, Mail Art has been "secret"; part of the fun is receiving a surprise package from a surprise partner. I would encourage you not to tell your partner who you are until a reasonable amount of time has passed for them to receive your art.
2. Please be sure to include enough postage for your Mail Art to reach its destination :)

If you have any questions or concerns, please send me an email. I'm always delighted to help.

Happy Swapping!

Kristi

I did receive your email Doris, and enjoyed it. You did not crash the server. My sister was an exray tech in Dallas, long years ago. She had to take call at night. She told me that she tried not to look like a young blonde female, while driving to the hospital. She wore something on her head always. Then after 25 years, she changed to become a Heart Cath lab tech. Finally after some more years she got off the call list. Now at 70 she orders and keeps track of the supplies and does the coding for billing. Even though we never lived close to each other, I prayed for her safety always.

I can live without the treasure, I just don't want someone out there thinking I am being rude, not acknowledging their gift.

Marilyn,

So sorry that you are still waiting! That is not sooooo fun. I wish I was your partner so you'd know from which direction its coming from. But sadly, it's not me (this time!) Many best wishes. I sent you a rather lengthy email. Hopefully I didn't burn up the server!! :D

If you sent your June Mail Art to me, and are dismayed because I have not yet thanked you....It is because I have not yet received the package. Sorry.

Ana models Marilyn's orange summertime apron in front of my latest hobby. Marilyn also made a notebook and cover, out of matching fabrics, ready to log the transformation and travels of Corabelle, the vintage trailer. In the Good Ole Summertime!!!

Thank you Marilyn!!

oh goodness! Here I started a complaint and now I've become the culprit!!

Marilyn, your super cheerful package arrived on Saturday, as predicted, and I opened it Sunday after church. Still in my dress, I put on the apron (Feeling totally like a shot from the MaryJane's Farm magazine!), took the notebook in hand and went out to my 1962 project trailer to sit and feel spoiled and fantasy-like! I have delayed because my daughter came in for a visit and distracted me, and I plan tomorrow to have her model for me so I can post a photo of the happiest apron in my house! So sorry to leave you wondering, and I LOVE it!

Sara M.

I did mail my package to my partner on time no less. but I have not heard that she got it. and Yes I will admit that I am one of the bad girls that never seems to get on to post that I sent my package, or received my package. but after being out on the farm all day in this heat. I usually come home and just go to bed. So If anyone wants to come beat me for being a bad girl. I will have the sweet tea waiting, and then we can go play in the studio. ;)

Look at the wonderful June Mail Art I got from Mary Jo! She made a pretty orange butterfly coaster (signed) and I also got included on the card swap with the glittery puzzle piece and the soy apple butter candle is pure heaven (even unlit) on my desk.
Thank you so much Farm Girl Mary Jo!!

Oh for me purging is futile...I just neaten, distribute and haul away my stuff and then its time to try to empty my Parent's home-most of it came home with me-fabric scraps, yarn, photos, sketch pads, letters. I commend those who can actually toss-Brava!!!

My summer project is to purge the junk from our house. It is so difficult...like you said. I have saved things for school, for making and shipping and just because! So far I have five bags for the burn pile(and it is too dry to burn). I seem to start something and become distracted or life and family needs must be addressed. I thank God for helping me do what gets done, and I ask Him to continue to help me. There are some 10" fabric squares waiting for me. Hopefully, that will help me get to my goal.
