Hooray for Spring! It's time to sign up for April Mail Art

If this is your first time signing up for Mail Art, please visit the topic Farmgirl Mail Art to read our guidelines. Then leave a comment on that post if you want to participate and I will contact you.

FOR APRIL, please leave a comment on this thread stating you'd like to join in. Sign-up is available through April 15. If your comment appears after you've posted it, that means you're on the roster.

This month, we'll keep on with our theme and challenge that we started in January. Doris Meisell has chosen for us this month and our theme will be Travel/Vacation. I sure have some fond memories of places I've traveled. Our challenge will be to add our favorite song to the theme. My gears are already turning, trying to think of only one favorite song! And as always, if the theme/challenge isn't right for you, feel free to march to the beat of your own artistic drummer.

I will send an email with your partner to you on April 16. Please send your Mail Art before April 30.

A couple of things to keep in mind:
1. Traditionally, Mail Art has been "secret"; part of the fun is receiving a surprise package from a surprise partner. I would encourage you not to tell your partner who you are until a reasonable amount of time has passed for them to receive your art.
2. Please be sure to include enough postage for your Mail Art to reach its destination :)

If you have any questions or concerns, please send me an email. I'm always delighted to help.

Happy Swapping!

Kristi

That sounds so fun! I can imagine how special it made the girls feel. I just loved my grandma's huge assortment of costume jewelry.

I kept all of it that made it to me!

Doris, when we sorted through my mother's things we kept two Sunday hats, all costume jewelry, as well as her pretty plate collection, etc. Those hats were enjoyed so much be two little girls, as well as the beads. They would get dressed up to take their dolls shopping (make believe). Quilts were also kept as of course photos. I went through a box of photos and made piles, then mailed them off to different ones.

MaryJo,

I just sent you an email. So sorry my FG sister but I failed to acknowledge the windchimes you sent for this swap! Begging for forgiveness. It has been a rough few months around here. Each day gets a little better and I'm getting out more and more as well as starting the long process of figuring out what needs to stay and what needs to go in the immediate. Of course, we will not try to purge every thing of mom's as we know that we would regret that later down the road.

Anyway, best regards and I'm sorry I failed to send you a "thank you" sooner. I usually get on here right away and post photos too. * *I will take a photo of the windchimes in a bit and post for all to enjoy as well.

GrammyTammy! thanks so much for the great package. I just so love going to the mail box and finding treasures like this. I, too, love the beach. Here in Minnesota, they are always found on lakes, not oceans. Thanks again! Mary Jo

Hi Jinelle,
I received your wonderfully decorated package yesterday. It is the most elaborate envelope _ I am sure the post mistress enjoyed it (we talk about the Farm Art project when I mail mine). It was lots of fun. Thank-you for all the goodies inside too, I will enjoy them.

Blenie, your package arrived safe and sound. I'm enjoying the campfire even though the days are getting warmer here. My husband and I gobbled up the Smore very quickly and enjoyed it. You did a great job packing.

Thank you! My husband wasn't happy that I gutted his copy of QBVII, though.

Let me share the intricate needle work that RoDonna sent to me! It has to have taken hours to complete, and yet she sent it to a stranger! So sweet, and much appreciated! My family loves our annual February vacation to the coast!

First of all I want to thank Marilou for my awesome mail art. It is so beautiful and I will get a picture up soon. On another note I am appologizing to my partner because I am so slow this month. Your art is in the works but it will be a bit more time to get it to you. I hope you enjoy it when you get it. So if one of you is starting to wonder if the postman will ever arrive you may be my partner an I hope to not make you wait much longer. I am about half done.
