Sometimes all you can do is be kind.

Sherone,
I will be speaking from some experience. Before I begin though, I agree with Shannon, that each person must handle it according to their beliefs and personality.
My situation: I married my husband 7 years ago. His sisters and his father did not agree with our getting married. He did have his mother's blessing. Since the day of our marriage, his family has shunned us. We were never invited to any family gatherings and my husband was told that the only way he would be welcome back into the family was to divorce me. He stood with me and we disowned his family completely.

My stand was for him to continue a relationship with his parents, but his father was the worse in trying to get him to divorce me. So we severed all ties. I severed the ties after two years of marriage and trying to mend the rift that I had no idea why it was there.

My suggestion is to ignore, pretend all is well, and live your life according to what you believe in and not let them destroy or come in between you and your hubby. If you have dealings, then deal with what you have, but let them act like spoiled children. You know the truth and sometimes that can be enough. His mother is being controlled by the sister and there is nothing you can do about that. Love her the best you can for your husbands sake and let everything else go.

I wish you well and hopefully it will all work itself out in the wash.

May the stars carry your sadness away. May the flowers fill your heart with beauty, and may hope forever wipe away your tears.

Sherone - First and foremost, HUGE (((hugs)))! I don't know that it is right to give you advice on this situation, as i think each of us would handle it differently, depending on personalities. I am one who would do number 10, but I know there are others that would stand up and fight. What I can - and WILL do - is pray for you and all the extended family regarding it! Much Farmgirl LOVE to you!!!
