Darn Good Yarn is a Maine company run by some really nice gals. I noticed that in their current newsletter that Mary Janes farm is their favorite magazine! They have lovely recycled sari silk and chiffon yarns and a lot of other yummy things too. And they help women in poverty make their ends meet.Nicole the founder of the company is a retired Air Force gal. I guess they have been around since 2008 but I only found them a couple of years ago through our local Agway.

They are a great company that is also doing great things for other women. And I thought if anyone was interested they might check them out

I also didn't know if they may have been in an issue of MJF because I missed them if they were ?

If I have posted this in the wrong forum please put it where it should go.

Thanks for the information, Peggy! I checked out the website- love to see women helping women in these wonderful partnerships.

Anna, the link supposedly did not work for me, either, getting a "not found" message when I tried it. After a few seconds, though, a pop-up came up asking if I wanted to sign up for emails, so then I thought, "What's that all about if the page can't be found?" So then I just went to the tabs along the top, which I could still see despite the "not found" message, clicked one, and had no difficulty navigating through the website. So, try it again is what I would say!

Blessings to you on your life's journey.

I have used their sari silk ribbon and love it. I carry it in my bead & fiber shop. It's really pretty used with kumihimo!

I agree, Carole. It's amazing the amount of good they're creating in the world.

Love these gals and how they have helped so many women. Their recycled sari ribbon is my favorite. If there is anyone in the St. Louis area that would like to crochet or knit together, I have a cozy studio where I carry some of her yarns.

Just starting a chapter called "Stitching for Hope".
Located in Manchester Mo, a little west of St. Louis.
