I have started this new thread to replace the old one which was just too full.

Here is something I'm working on.

I'm using fabric from the fabric swaps.

Here is a picture of the afghan that I crocheted for my oldest daughter and her hubby for Christmas. I finished it before Thanksgiving but just remembered to take a picture today before I wrapped it. :)

Many of us come later to quilting as it is a very time consuming hobby. I made my first quilt top in 1965, right before my second child was born. It was another 45 years before I had the time to resume. I still have that first top, made with polyester fabrics and bonded lace.

Very nice, Vanessa! I started later in life with quilting, too! I am 72 and have been sewing since I was nine. but quilting came to me in 2014. I have so many projects picked out!

Looks like you have plenty of room to create quilts in. Always good to have someone to talk to while you are down there!

, you are so right! One lifetime isn't long enough to make all the quilts on my wishlist, especially since I began later in life. On the bright side, my husband encouraged me to move my sewing stuff to the basement apartment. This is the back half, partially organized.
And here's the front half.

As you can see, I won't be alone down here!

Good idea Karen. That will last longer than bubble bath, which my mother always got for the teachers.

Yesterday and today, I have been working on a “gift” for my daughter (1st grade teacher) from her class kiddos. I will turn it into a pillow and the kiddos can give it to her on their last day before break. I used a light board to trace their handwriting from paper to fabric.

Linda -- I love the bright colors in your quilt. Very nice.
Vanessa -- What a different way to display the quilts. It's nice you have a place to do that, we don't have so many quilt shows here anymore due to the high rents to have a show.

I talked our quilt club into a quilt display today during the Christmas parade festivities. This is only a portion of the courtroom. We had all types of quilts and wall hangings displayed.

Last week I finished a wall hanging UFO; my Mom had gotten me the kit for Christmas in 2004. I finally sandwiched and stitched it.
The second picture is the backing I used.

Thanks ladies. I will be staying up late this week to work on it after the kids have gone to bed. They are out of school until Monday for Thanksgiving break, which means I can't work on it during the day.
