I have started this new thread to replace the old one which was just too full.

Here is something I'm working on.

I'm using fabric from the fabric swaps.

Good idea Karen. That will last longer than bubble bath, which my mother always got for the teachers.

Yesterday and today, I have been working on a “gift” for my daughter (1st grade teacher) from her class kiddos. I will turn it into a pillow and the kiddos can give it to her on their last day before break. I used a light board to trace their handwriting from paper to fabric.

Linda -- I love the bright colors in your quilt. Very nice.
Vanessa -- What a different way to display the quilts. It's nice you have a place to do that, we don't have so many quilt shows here anymore due to the high rents to have a show.

I talked our quilt club into a quilt display today during the Christmas parade festivities. This is only a portion of the courtroom. We had all types of quilts and wall hangings displayed.

Last week I finished a wall hanging UFO; my Mom had gotten me the kit for Christmas in 2004. I finally sandwiched and stitched it.
The second picture is the backing I used.

Krista, How cute! A friend of mine is doing this stitch and it will be an owl. I didn't get to see hers finished but look forward to seeing yours!

Thanks ladies. I will be staying up late this week to work on it after the kids have gone to bed. They are out of school until Monday for Thanksgiving break, which means I can't work on it during the day.

I have taken a break on my Harry Potter corner to corner squares to start working on some Christmas gifts for my children. Right now I am working on a crochet pillow for my little guy. He mentioned a couple weeks ago how he wanted one like his brother. I am about half way done with the front square.

Nancy, that sounds like so much fun working on a project together! I look forward to seeing your finished shawl.

Linda, it sounds like you are going to be super busy. Good luck with finishing up one more UFO project.

I am determined to finish up more UFO projects. I have numerous kits - some I bought and some I inherited when my cousin passed away. I also have numerous quilts that need binding, quilt tops that need finishing, and some clothing "wants" that I have been trying to make.

Clothing wise:
* turn a pair of jeans into a long denim skirt with a triangular insert in the front and back [jeans are cut and ready, just need to figure out the insert sizes]
* turn a bright oval vintage tablecloth into a circular skirt [I keep hesitating because I don't want to cut it wrong - :-( ]
* make a quilted coat or jacket out of a quilt
* make a quilted vest with a pattern I've had for years
* make 2 skirts from fabric I got at a shop in the Caribbean

That's enough for a while, considering I have 3 cruises planned, too, between now and April.
